Our task is compare between 2 website in same industry.
Most of them didn't last long. Lelong, however, sustained itself and in time became Malaysia's largest auction site. For some period of time, they changed their name to Buy Sell Lelong (god knows why) but have since reverted back to the original name.
In case you don't already know, Lelong.com.my is-
- Malaysia's largest buy sell & auction portal
- Over 9 million pageviews per month.
- Over 450,000 visitors a month.
Many people think of Lelong.com.my as an auction site, where you can only sell used or cheap things. This is not true!
The eBay Marketplace creates a powerful online platform for the sale of goods and services by a passionate community of individuals and small businesses. With millions of buyers and sellers worldwide, eBay offers localized sites in the following markets.
FrontPage
In eBay website, the design is colorful and the information arrangement is orderly view in the difference boxes.
First page in Lelong.com website we can see the design is measurable, not attractive, to much advertisement and unarranged information.
Product view
Overall in eBay website and Lelong.com, both have the complete summarize product and easier to search the info for each product.
Font Size
In both website, the font size is not consistence. Even though sometime it large and small but they still highlight the importance info.
Security
In eBay website, they provide safety to customer by check the seller’s reputation based on feedback from the past customers. For example, eBay has one box that calls ‘Buy safely’.
In Lelong.com website, the security they have is seller and related information that can be use for security to customer.
Money back guarantee and return policy
In both website, they have their own warranty. The good sold are not refundable in cash but warranty only cover on manufacture defect. However in eBay website, it is depending on the product that customers buy and Item must be returned within 7 Days. 20% restocking fees applies to all returns. Shipping is non-refundable.
Delivery method
In Lelong.com website, they use PosLaju, postage and Handling fee for delivering method.
Payment method
On payment methods, eBay use Pay Pal as medium to accept payment from visa/MasterCard, Amax and Discover. Pay Pal enables any individual or business with an email address to securely, easily and quickly send and receive payments online.
In Lelong.com web site, they only accept payment from Maybank2u, ATM, counter, interbank Transfer. They didn’t use Pay Pal.
Bidding/ordering method
In eBay web site they use an industry standard classification system to categorize their products and information search. Even though it’s arrange and orderly structured but sometimes customer need information on related item without search. For example at eBay, the customers don’t have enough information in term of bidding the product and have to search.
In Lelong.com web site, they are more direct to the customer in giving information that related to the product. The rules or policies will be citing through the product. For example at Lelong.com, they have a special note about dynamic bidding rules and reserved price auction as a guideline for customer to bid without search.
Picture
Product descriptions on Lelong.com have a clear and high-quality picture compare to eBay. In eBay to see the picture, customers must click to zoom in. So, it’s hard to customer.
Colour
When giving important information, Lelong.com always use bright colour or highlight the sentences to remains customer. For example in terms and condition, they highlight with red colour to remember customer.
Compare with eBay, they has standardized all the letter of sentences with the same colour which is blue. If they want to remains about important sentence, they only highlight/bold with the same colour and it’s not attracting customer.
